MagicCon: Philadelphia Anti-Harassment Policy (the “Policy”)

MagicCon: Philadelphia has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment of any kind, including, but not limited to:

  • stalking
  • intimidation
  • offensive verbal comments
  • physical assault and/or battery
  • harassing or non-consensual photography or recording
  • sustained disruption of panels, signings and other events
  • bathroom policing
  • inappropriate physical contact
  • unwelcome physical attention
  • hate symbols, in relation to, but not limited to:
    • race
    • color
    • national origin
    • gender
    • gender identity
    • gender presentation
    • sexual orientation
    • age
    • body size
    • disability
    • appearance
    • religion
    • citizenship
    • pregnancy

This Policy applies not only to in-person MagicCon: Philadelphia, but also on any website, platform or social media account associated with MagicCon: Philadelphia.

To report an incident during an in-person show please contact the nearest staff member or security officer for assistance.

If a person engages in harassing behavior, in-person at a MagicCon: Philadelphia event and/or on any website, platform or social media account associated with MagicCon: Philadelphia staff and personnel may take prompt  action in any form they deem appropriate in their sole discretion, including expulsion from MagicCon: Philadelphia with no refund and being barred from future MagicCon events and/or from using any website, platform or social media account associated with MagicCon: Philadelphia. This Policy applies to EVERYONE; exhibitors, fans (attendees), speakers, guests, professionals, press, staff, volunteers, and security are all subject to this Policy.

Please remember; anyone can report harassment. If someone’s behavior has made you uncomfortable, or if you witness the same happening to someone else, you should immediately contact MagicCon: Philadelphia staff and/or the security team. If the incident takes place onsite at a MagicCon: Philadelphia event, you may also come to an info booth. If appropriate, MagicCon: Philadelphia staff may contact local law enforcement, provide escort, offer a safe place, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to make sure they feel safe. 

Remember: Cosplay is not consent. Keep your hands to yourself. If you would like to take a picture with or of another MagicCon: Philadelphia fan, always ask first and respect that person’s right to say no. When at a MagicCon: Philadelphia event, or using a website, platform or social media account associated with MagicCon: Philadelphia, be respectful, be nice, be cool, and be kind to each other. Compliance with this Policy is mandatory in order to attend a MagicCon: Philadelphia event or view, participate with, or utilize any website, platform or social media account associated with MagicCon: Philadelphia.

As fans ourselves, we understand the importance of creating a safe space for everyone who attends MagicCon: Philadelphia and/or views, participates with, or utilizes any website, platform or social media account associated with MagicCon: Philadelphia.
